My friend and I stayed at The Stone Hotel for TEN nights ( Nov. 3- 13, 2010). I had found the listing for the hotel on line and took it on faith and trust what everyone else had said. It is ALL TRUE! The location is excellent. You are literally steps away from everything- the mosques, the Grand Bazaar, the Cisterns, the tram line, the Bosphorus but in a quiet, private neighborhood. The staff is friendly, helpful, and fun. There is a FREE computer in the lobby and there is FREE wifi in all the rooms. We had just come from Egypt and paid $6 for 1/2 hr. and up to $30 a day for Wifi - so that is quite a savings. The rooms are sweet, the bathroom is large, and the breakfast buffet is more than adequate with cheese, meats, vegetables, bread, hard boiled eggs- more than enough to get you going. We got a great rate of 50 euros a night. I think it was because it was off season and because we stayed so long. I would certainly stay there again when ( not if) I return to Istanbul. If you stay more than 4 nights they will do a free airport pick-up. Because we stayed so long we also got it free back to the airport. Really, I can't recommend this place highly enough. the hotel was comfortable but the staff made up for any deficiencies. they promptly picked me up from the airport as a complimentary service and helped ,me plan my stay while i was saying there. Breakfast was average.The free internet serivce in the lobby was an added plus! the location was within minutes walk to major attractions. I would also specially mention Ramazan , a front desk clerck who went out of his way to help me making reservations to restaurants and shows.

The hotel is not big, but very well located.It is not on the busy tourisict street.But Sultan Ahmet Square, Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque just a five minute walk from the hotel There is plenty to see and do in the area (museums, famous buildings ) and everything was walking distance from the hotel. The room was clean, bathroom clean, everything in order. The staff was great very helpful and friendly that felt as if i was at home. I would highly reccomend Stone hotel !

I have choosen Stone Hotel by the recommendation of my family who had stayed at this lovely small hotel recently. Hotel is very well located for the visitors who wants see the old city. It is only 2-3 blocks away from the old city square. Rooms are nice well organized and always clean. The view from the terrace and from the room I' ve stayed is wonderful. But for me the favourite side of the hotel is the most friendly and helpful staff of the hotel. I had a very short time in Istanbul but they made this time very long ,valuable and memorable for me. I would definitely recommend this hotel: good value, good location and above all excellent staff (friends)!
